Introducing User Reviews for Anki Decks

Image
We are compiling a structured review system for all Anki decks available for medical students in India. The aim is to make it easier for students to choose and improve upon decks based on collective feedback. I will make the response sheet public once it has decent number of reviews.   The reviews collected here would be used to compile posts containing various reviews of subject wise anki decks in the future. We are building this review system because there are countless Anki decks scattered across different platforms, and students often struggle with FOMO and confusion about which deck to pick. By compiling honest reviews and feedback in one place, we aim to create a comprehensive guide that will help learners compare, evaluate, and choose the deck that best suits their needs—making the learning process more efficient and stress-free. Please note: For your name, you may enter your Reddit username, your real name (if you’d like to be public), or just write “Anonymous.” If you choo...

High Yield Notes on Pharmacology By Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh(NEET '24 AIR 100, INICET '24 AIR 252)

When it comes to exam prep, the right notes can save you hours of confusion. One such gem is the Pharmacology notes compiled by Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh, which have been circulating among medicos for a while now and have honestly reached a kind of legendary status. These notes first started doing the rounds in his college days, when he shared them with juniors. What started as a simple act of generosity quickly turned into a go-to resource that kept getting passed down year after year. The reason? They’re not just another bunch of scribbles – they’re concise, exam-oriented, and ridiculously high yield. Even today, juniors are still relying on them because the content just works when it comes to revision and recall. Why These Notes Matter Focused content – cuts out the fluff, keeps only what’s exam-relevant. Organized and clear – easy to revise, even under last-minute pressure. Tried and tested – used by multiple batches over the years with great results. About Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh Th...

Introduction to Anki

Image
What is ANKI ? ANKI is a free, open-source flashcard program that uses spaced repetition and active recall to help you remember information more effectively than passive review. At its simplest, ANKI is a digital version of physical flashcards — but it’s “smart.” Instead of you deciding when to re-see a card, ANKI schedules each card’s next appearance based on how well you recalled it. That means that easy cards are shown less frequently and difficult cards are shown more often, optimizing your study time so you spend the most time on what you don’t yet know. The desktop program and the online sync service ( AnkiWeb ) are maintained from the official Anki site; you can download the desktop version at the official Anki page.  Why it matters for MBBS students: medicine is an enormous, cumulative subject. On any given day you might need to remember: dozens of cranial nerve functions , hundreds of drug-mechanism / adverse effect pairs , scores and criteria for diagnoses, and stepwise...
