If you are starting with Anki do this:
Watch this video of Anki MasterClass of 3 hours, watch it with patience and watch it entirely. Anki has a learning curve, no short video will help you master you all the features of Anki. If you are planning to use Anki for a long term use, its essential you spend some time of yours now to set a solid foundation. Don't make half hearted attempts to learn the basic features and start solving Anki, cause you will end up wasting more of your time infact.

The video although made for Anki PC users, will suffice for those planning to use Ankidroid or Anki on ipad or ios, as the fundamental concepts are the same in every platform.
The best decks for beginners if you have just begun, and for the corresponding proff years are:
1st year: panacea physio deck
3rd year: Modified ENT deck, mangomedic dermat
4th year: mangomedic surgery and mangmoedic ortho

Set you required daily limit as per your convenience, like 100 new cards or 50 cards, try to do anki everyday,
