How to make flashcards faster
1) Download Greenshot software:
Customise the shortcut key in the settings menu:
Check the box save the picture to clipboard:
This tool has several other options like an image editor, can send the extracted image to some other destination you choose or a predefined destination which have already selected.
2. Download Microsoft Power Toys software:
This has several tools within it but one of the most handy tool which comes into play is the text extractor through which you can extract text from any image(OCR tool),
You can change the shortcut key in the settings.
On pressing your shortcut key(I have set it as CTRL +T), a tool appears to select the text. Just select the paragraph of your desired region, the tool shall directly extract out image from the selected region and automatically send the extracted text to your clipboard. Now you can CTRL+V in any text field to paste the required text there, and make clozes out of it.
3. X Mouse Button control:
Download this from here
This tool enables you to map certain shortcuts of your keyboard onto mouse buttons so that, with a simple click of that particular mouse button, the mapped shortcut will be activated. For example, if I map the shortcut CTRL+T to my middle mouse button, on pressing the Middle mouse button, my text extractor tool will be activated. This saves a lot of time.
4. Memo AI:
By far the most accurate tool that helps in generating flashcards out of a pdf. Its paid though.
5. Other Addons that help in faster editing and reviewing:
One special addon that needs mention is the 'Always on top Addon' which helps to keep the anki on top and not let it minimise, this is very helpful when you are watching lectures and makings flashcards out of it.
6. Using Alt+ Tab to switch between windows helps to navigate between Anki and other windows faster
7. Improve your typing:
Even 5 mins of daily typing tasks would drastically improve your reflexes and help you make flashcards faster:
It’s built in to Anki now. There should be a pin symbol in the top right of whatever field you want to freeze. Just click on that, and it’ll freeze the field for future cards. It will save you an extra step of adding and importing images.
